Anise and Ginger dispel gas and prevent bloating. Fennel, Peppermint and Chamomile are antispasmodic. They act on the smooth muscle of the respiratory passages as well as the stomach and intestines. Cinnamon slows the rate at which the stomach empties after meals, reducing the rise in blood sugar after eating.
